Information Center for Immigrants

On 3 June 2019, the Parliament passed a parliamentary resolution no. 34/149 on the establishment of an information center for immigrants.

According to the parliamentary resolution, the role of the information center is to provide accessible advice, guidance, and information for immigrants on necessary services, their rights, and obligations. The information center should also be a platform for cooperation between state institutions, municipalities, and other institutions such as labour unions and non-profit organizations.

All our services are free of charge and provided in full confidentiality. New in Iceland counselors speak 8 languages: English, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Lithuanian, Russian and Icelandic. Telephone interpretation is offered for other languages.

The information center for immigrants, Multicultural Information Centre (Fjölmenningardeild Vinnumálastofnunar) is located at Grensásvegur 9, 108 Reykjavík.

Opening hours: Every working day from 10 to 15 and from 10 to 18 on Wednesdays.

You can call, send emails, chat online and make an appointment.
